Flu, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube and cats

You know what’s really annoying? When you want to be outside taking pictures of lovely things but instead you’re stuck inside feeling rotten cause some crazy flu has decided to set up residence in your body and refuses to leave. But you know what’s really nice? Cats. Honestly, snuggling a fluffy kitty makes everything better, even if just for a few minutes. If you don’t have a fluffy kitty to snuggle, you can pretend to be snuggling Shai, pictured above. I found this photo from a few years ago on my hard drive and it cheered me up so so much I couldn’t resist sharing it.

One of silver linings to the cloud of not being able to be up and about doing stuff is having lots of time to spend browsing Twitter and Instagram. Those maybe aren’t the places you’d immediately associate with really beautiful art photography but there is so much gorgeous stuff (and so many interesting people!) on there. Also (drum roll please) I have registered a YouTube channel. I’m not even posting a link at this point because there is literally nothing to see there. I’m still figuring out what kind of things I’m going to post, although it’ll obviously be about photography, and trying to get over my massive discomfort with how I look and sound in videos. There’s no particular reason I’m uncomfortable with that other than it just kind of freaks me out. Every time I think about it, I try to push my brain in the direction of productive thoughts about what kind of tutorials I could make or which products I could review, or even just what topics I could chat about in video blog posts, because those are the kind of videos I really enjoy watching. When I do figure all that out and actually post some content, you’ll be the first to know.

You may have noticed this post is a bit less photography-ish and a bit more ramblings-ish, which is why I’ve introduced a new category to my blog – Ramblings! It’s where you’ll find posts where I talk about personal stuff, how my week has been, what I’m getting up to etc. There’ll always be something photography related in my ramblings, but I thought it might be fun to share a bit more of me-as-a-person with you lot instead of just me-as-a-photographer :-)
